Ralph Cambell Memorial Award

In 2009, the PDCA decided that one of the best ways to help keep founding-member Ralph Campbell’s memory alive was to bestow an annual award in his honor.  PDCA formed a committee to oversee and coordinate this award, which celebrates the qualities that made Ralph such a wonderful part of the decoy collecting community.  The Ralph Campbell Memorial Award for Goodwill and Ambassadorship in the Decoy Collecting Community recognizes people who share Ralph’s passion for our hobby, his willingness to share all he knew about decoys and their history, and his humor and kindness.

The committee is chaired by PDCA president emeritus Tom East, and also includes Larry Myers, Chris Worch, Ray Whetzel, Jim Trimble, Jim Van Ness and Chad Tragakis.  Award winners receive a commemorative plaque and a financial contribution is made in their name to the decoy museum or institution of their choice.  Each fall, an official call for nominations is issued and all PDCA members are invited and encouraged to nominate the person or persons that they feel deserve this unique honor.
